NCEC A to Z

Faculty & Staff Orientation 2026

Hello NCEC Faculty,

I hope you are having a great summer! In preparation for fall, we will be holding two important events on Thursday, August 20th:
  1. An NCEC beginning of semester meeting from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.*
  2. An in-person skills check-off/coaching session for all three simulation courses from 12:00–3:00 p.m.
Skills Check-Off and Coaching: If you are assigned to one or more simulation courses, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate skills using the same or similar checklists and instructional materials that students use in the lab. Our goal is to help you feel confident with the policies and procedures for UI-specific psychomotor skills and prepared to evaluate students' competency in lab/simulation settings. During the coaching/checkoff, experienced NCEC faculty will observe your demonstrations and provide supportive coaching and feedback to help create a consistent practice across all sim labs.
This is a required event; however, if you are unable to attend, an alternative time for you to complete the skills will be arranged.
